For years my heater fan would only operate on high. I would have to adjust my temperature up or down accordingly or turn it completely off. Recently, my son locked the keys in the car, with it running, while I was out of town. Well, eventually it ran out of gas and of course the battery drained and I had to fill it up, charge up the battery to get it going. Before it started the LED readout on the dash went kind of haywire and flashed off and on and finally it seemed all was well. Then I noticed the heater fan worked at all levels! High, low, and in between. It was great! Well that lasted for about 2 weeks, and now it's back to the way it was previously. Any thoughts?

Run the self test on it by turning the key to on, then press off and floor at the same time, then within 2 secs, press auto, this will self test the system and display any codes. I think you have either a switch problem, or resistor problem, Post the codes if any show up.
