1999 Ford Contour 4 cyl Automatic 124000 miles
My car has been hooked up to a computer and the diagnostic keeps showing that there is no problem with my car at all. My check eingine light has never came on, but everytime my air or fan is on my car will shut off. It will start jerking, it will start driving slower and eventually stop driving while its still in drive and then shut off. If I wait 5 minutes it will come back on. My car runs fine when the air is off. I just found out I have a leak in my AC but a mechanic said that where its leaking wouldnt cause my car to shut off. Nobody knows why my car is shutting off only when the air is on. My pcv valve has been cleaned I got a new fuel filter and a number of other things fixed. The car hasnt had a tune up in a while but I dont know if thats the problem. Do you know why my car shuts off only when the air is on?
