1998 Ford Contour Transmission shifting Problems

Recently my transmission started acting up. It will not shift gears without me first letting up on the accelerator. Then it seems like a rough shift. Additionally, the OD indicator light is flashing. Is this a major repair?

I am having the exact same thing happening to me ATM I just got back from the shop where they had scanned the car's Comp to see which codes it was throwing out. The Comp up with this "P01744" code which I have seen around on some sights while I was researching my contours many other problems. They said that code could be 1 if not all three of the following problems:
1. Faulty harness connector
2. Faulty Tcc selenoid
3. Worn connector clutch

Seeing how I JUST got back from the mechanic 10 minutes ago I cant tell you how to fix it quite yet, for they couldnt really get in their and fix it until monday. Hope this info helped you out and you have some luck fixing it. Also if you do find a way to fix it could you please post your solution here? I would really like to know before monday. Thanks!
