#1-when vehicle is cold it will not stay running, need to accelerate gas pedal to keep in running until it obtains it's own idle. When running at idle vehicle idle tends to increase, decrease then will stall after 3-4 surges. When I go to restart the truck, turn the ignition, the motor turns over but I have to step on the accelerator when it sounds like it is going to start, let off of the accelerator. Engine loads up with fuel, step on accelerator, rev at high idle then it clears itself out. I have noticed that when driving the vehicle suddenly the motor will start to surge, step on accelerator after it hits certain RPM (?) Will start to run at normal speed. Also noticed the charge gauge on dashboard will move toward discharge while accelerating. Took alternator out to auto parts store to be tested-they said it is fine. Also note I have had the muffler off of the exhaust system do not know if this would cause any effect or not. Also before all problems I had a cold idle start where I could turn the ignition on and the motor would have high idle until system kicked in then return to regular idle. I currently do not have that. Also noticed I have a whistling coming from inside the throttle body when accelerator pedal is pressed to a certain degree, then goes away once I accelerate passed the that point. By the way the truck has a 302 F.I system EEC-IV.

Thank you,
John

ISC Idle speed controller-If its a feedback carb-check the feedback solenoid and the curb idle speed -check the PCV and EGR valves andthe throttle position sensor.
