Van starts, runs fine til you put in gear. Then it dies.
husband states that he does not hear a sound from the back when he turns on the ignition anylonger either (I believe that is the fuel pump priming)

I would like to ck the fuse first, do you know which one it is? Location? On the fuse panel?

Next I told him it is probably the fuel pump. I have some experience with this. If I remember right it is on the top of the gas tank and to change you need to drop the tank and remove from the top.

Is this a "easy" job to replace fuel pump, or "really difficult"?

He has changed plugs, oil, and ful filter. (Filter was clean, but changed anyway.) Also changed the heater core a year ago.

The question I saw on your list mentioned resetting something also, could you ellabrate a little please?

Also do you have any websites that would show a picture of the assembly of tank and pump so he can get a picture of what he is getting into.

He speaks spanish and I have to translate, it is easier with a picture to show him what needs to be done.

It is not used very often and the last time he moved it it ran just fine.

I have also checked for foul play ie: suger in tank, but do not see anything

Hi:
How long will the van run if you don't put it in gear? Also, have you done a fuel pressure / volume test? I would recommend that before taking the tank out. The tank straps will most likely be rusted and break when you try removing them. Therefore, prior to that, I recommend the test.

Als, I can't copy and paste from our manual, so I don't have the picture you need. If you go to a parts store, they will ost likely have a book you can look at.

Let me know what you find.

Joe

The car runs as long as it is in park or nutral.

It also runs speed up and down. Like as if fuel is not running even.

What about fuel injector trouble?
Thank you for all your help

Hi:
It could be several things. The irratic idle could be cause by the throttle positioner. Also, it could have something to do with the duel pressure regulator. I doubt it's the injectors.
