I have a 1995 ford probe with a v6 with about 60000 miles. The car had been sitting for about five years, and i went to move it, and it wouldnt start. i gave it some eather and it started and ran for a minute but shut back off. i'm thinking that its the fuel filter, but i want your opinion.

Certainly sounds like its fuel related. Might be a filter, might be a pump, might be neither.

Need to see if there is any fuel pressure, may need to pull the filter and then check pressure again. IF none, need to check for power getting to the pump.
