Unless I spray starter fluid or a little gas into the throttle body. It stays running for a minute or two. Did that a few times. The last couple times I went to shift into neutral and drive but as soon as I did that it would just shut off. I need to know how to test the ECU with my meter. Thank you.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.

This sounds like a fuel pump or the crankshaft angle sensor has gone out. When you turn the key to the on position without cranking the engine over can you hear the fuel pump run in the tank for 5 seconds?

It sounds like you simply aren't getting fuel to the engine. Most likely, a bad fuel pump. With that in mind, first check fuses. Also, here is a link that shows how to check fuel pump pressure. If it is too low, the engine won't run.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-fuel-system-pressure-and-regulator

Here are the specs for pressure:

ITEM .................... SPECIFICATIONS

Fuel Pressure
Key on, engine off .................... 240-310 kPa (35-45 psi)
Engine running .................... 193-310 kPa (28-45 psi)

Since the engine starts with starting fluid, it isn't ignition related. It is fuel related. Start by checking pressure and let me know what you find so I can further direct you.

Take care and Merry Christmas,

Joe
