extra light clutch

when i press the clutch it is very light to the point it hard to feel the bite. which is causing me a lack off pull at take off and causing issues on hill starts with stalling. i have been told it may be the clutch plate rather than the clutch itself. any advise please?

normally spring pressure is for how hard it is to push in unless it is hydraulic and you have a problem there. and normally clutches are sold plate and pressure plate.
