I've been going through a lot of oil, but it's not been dripping on the ground or anywhere. Now there's been some blue smoke coming from the exhaust when I start the car and it's been sitting awhile.

If the car sat for a long time the first thing I would look at are the valve seals. They likely dried out and cracked and are now leaking.

Your last statement was "and it's been sitting awhile".

How long is a while?

Here is a list of things that can cause oil consumption resulting in tailpipe smoke:

- Bad valve seals (will run normal)
- Warn out valve guides (normal to possible low power)
- Worn out piston rings (may run normal, may start hard and have low power)
- Plugged PCV valve (Poor performance all around)
- Blown head gasket/ warped head (may run normal, may start hard and have low power)
- Cracked engine block or head (may run normal, may start hard and have low power)
- Cracked piston (may run normal, may start hard and have low power)

If you need help with any of these please let me know.
