Have a 2003 audi a4t, 1.8 liter. Problem is just had motor installed and a new oem turbo. Car when picked up was smoking out the exhaust, big clouds. Drove it home and called person who installed it. Was told it would burn off oil out of the the converter, but after driving it, smoking continued. Checked oil and was almost empty no leaks what so ever. Have'nt drove it since. Motor does not knock, tick, sounds good. Not sure what to do. Sure would like to have an answer to fix this problem so daughter can drive her car. Thanks

Hi there,

For that much oil to be passing through, it is a fair chance that the turbo oil seal is faulty, this will draw oil directly into the turbo and out the exhaust, one other tell tail sign is fine oil specks on the back of the car.

Hi there,

The turbo seal is something that can only be done by a specialist turbo workshop, this will require the partial dismantling of the turbo and it will require precise setting up as the balance is critical, if the balance of the turbine in not perfect it will destroy it's self very quickly.
