We were driving about 1mile from home when the engine oil drain plug fell out. We lost all the engine oil and the engine stalled. We were towed home and put in new oil, filter, and drain plug.
The engine still turns over but will not fire.

Since you lost all the oil, the high pressure oil pump may have failed or the motor will not turn fast enough to build pressure.

Most likely you have major damage from this situation. You may be replacing the motor from this happening.

My concern is why did the plug come out? Who left it loose? They should be liable for this situation

Your vehicle requires oil pressure to fire the injectors. So they lose oil first and truck shuts off. Never saw an engine damaged from this. Fill oil and crank on it you have to bleed air out of system before it will build oil pressure and start.

So don't listen to above "tech"

Thanks for trying but you were not even close.
Why go straight to worst case scenario.
The plug came loose due to road vibration on Interstate 10 through Louisana, not mechanic failure. The trip totaled 3500 miles after the last oil change.
We were finally able to talk to the mechanic at the Ford dealer and he gave us the right answer.
Blacktop555 also gave us the right answer.

Thanks Blacktop555,
Wish we could have talked to you when we couldn't restart the truck.
A Ford mechanic at the dealership gave us the same info and the truck is running like new
