I have an engine that only stays running if you hold the gas pedal. I can hear the fuel pump engaging by there is no valve on the fuel rail to check the pressure. Could it be the idle control valve? There are no codes stored on the ECU. Also, I hooked up the diagnostic tablet and I don't have the option to check idle control valve. The misfire graphic bar does not show anything.

Hi,

When you hold the throttle to the floor, it is designed to shut the injectors down to eliminate a flooded engine. Do you notice any dark smoke from the exhaust system or strong odors?

Also, if possible, could you record what is happening and upload it for me to hear, and let me know if it happened all at once? If the check engine light isn't on, it could be related to fuel pressure, but we will need to make that determination once you let me know what you are seeing happen.

Let me know.
