Some times it does it at first start up but usually when accelerating spits cuts in and out rapidly, but if you back off gas usually can drive 30 or so. When it acts up you can hear lots of air noise like supper fast idling and tries to stay running but quits. If you pump accelerator very rapidly and keep in neutral at high RPM's it will come out of it then run great again. Idle fine go 70 some times for 10-20 miles sometimes 1-2 miles but if you go slowly and work your way up to speed it will usually run 35-45 MPH no rime or reason to it. Next time never bothers. Seams like when i'm in a hurry it happens fuel pressure stays steady at 45 -50 PSI and holds when off too. When it cuts out its quick on off erratic. Some times it tries to stay running but sometimes it quits but restarts and can hear lots of air sucked in air control or idle control system. Only code is mass air flow circuit voltage low.

Good morning,

The fuel pressure is off and may be the issue.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/engine-surges

Fuel Pressure (Key ON Engine OFF) .................... 364-405 kPa (53-59 psi)

With the pressure at what you measured, it will surge.

6. Disconnect the fuel sender quick-connect fittings.

NOTE: In order to prevent damage, cover the fuel pipe fittings with a shop towel before disconnecting the fuel pipes or removal of the fuel sender retaining ring, in order to catch any fuel that may leak out. Place the towel in an approved container when procedure is completed.

7. Disconnect the fuel sender electrical connector.
8. Disconnect the fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor electrical connector.
9. Remove the fuel sender retaining ring using the J 39765.

IMPORTANT: The modular fuel sender assembly will spring-up when the locking ring is removed.

10. Remove the fuel sender assembly.

NOTE: Do Not handle the fuel sender assembly by the fuel pipes. The amount of leverage generated by handling the fuel pipes could damage the joints.

IMPORTANT: When removing the fuel sender assembly from the fuel tank, the reservoir bucket on the fuel sender is full of fuel. The fuel sender must be tipped slightly during removal in order to avoid damage to the float. Place any remaining fuel into an approved container once the fuel sender is removed from the fuel tank.

11. Clean the fuel sender sealing surfaces.
12. Inspect the fuel sender sealing surfaces.
