Just to clarify, this only happens in the morning on a cold engine?
We can start with the basics. First of all you might need to do a tune up, if it has been a while.
It could be caused by a faulty sensor that does not provide accurate signal to the vehicle. It could be as simple as cleaning out few components like mass air flow sensor or throttle body.
