it started making a popping sound out the exhaust?

I went and replaced the heads and put it back together and got everything plugged in and when I started it, it ran fine for a little bit then it started making a popping sound out the exhaust. The motor was running smoothly still, but when I accelerated, it would stop popping and run fine. So, I do not know what it would be.
