I just bought the truck and it would turn over but would not start. I bought an igniter module and it started right up and idled at roughly 1000 rpm and ran smooth. When I revved up the motor it started cutting out no matter how high it was revved. I changed the fuel filter, no change. I changed the coil, no change.

The check engine light stays on and I had the codes checked and I was told it just showed that all 4 cylinders were showing fouled, nothing else. The alternator and the plug wires are new and I double checked that the wires were correct to the cylinder, they were.

I know that this either has to be a fuel or firing issue. The next step I had planned was to either check the fuel pressure if possible or change out the fuel pump. I am already into parts for $300 and if it doesn't need it I don't want to replace any more good parts. Any idea what would cause it to idle smooth and then cut out above 1000 rpm. Jumped time? I am running out of ideas.

Check fuel pressure with a gauge first then rescan it also check the compression on those cylinders. Auto parts rent gauge should be 38-44 psi at idle you may need new gaskets for union to install pressure gauge.

I disconnected the airflow sensor on the breather housing and it quit cutting out but I don't think it is running as good as it should. Does it hurt to run it disconnected to the parts store?

No it will only show up as a code because it's disconnected.
