Okay here's the deal, we were having trouble with the check engine light. We have replaced the catalytic converters, all the sensors, purge valves, the gas cap and had it checked for leaks and still the check engine light stays on. I beg you please help me. It's emission time again and I know it's a waste of time trying to go through the test. What do you think I need to do to get this mini van fixed once and for all?

Hi,

If the check engine light is on, have you had the computer scanned to see what codes are present? If not, that is where we need to start.

Here is a link that shows how to scan the entire system:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/can-scan-controller-area-network-easy

If you don't have a scanner, often times, a parts store will do it for you free of charge.

Let me know if you can have it done. Also, let me know what codes are found.

Take care,

Joe

The codes that come up are PO431, PO133 and PO446. The first code is the biggest pain.

Hi,

I realize you have replaced a lot, Have you checked to make sure both the upstream and down stream sensors are functioning properly. You should see a variation in the voltages.

If they are moving between.01 and.09 v, it sounds like the converter is faulty. Also, are there any exhaust leaks?
