The problem I am having is affecting the entire electrical system in the car. It is actually caused the car to stop running and the inside and head lights to go haywire. Occasionally, I can see the instrument and head lights dim as I am driving the car. I have been told by a mechanic that there is corrosion building up inside the fuse box.
So, I need to know how to open the fuse box under the hood?
I have examined it and do not really see a way of separating the top where the fuses are from the lower plastic housing. (Not just taking the fuses and relays out.)
I have had to have them clean it up a couple of times, but I would like to know how to do it myself to save a few bucks. Also, is there anything I can put on there to prevent the corrosion form coming back?

We do not have pictures of that, but there may be either bolts going through box or clips I am talking the one under hood pull it out after loosening the bolts clean the prongs up and use dielectric grease on prongs for better contact. Make sure to disconnect battery as well when doing this.
