My truck listed above XLT is having some issues. First, the radio quit, then the gear shift letters quit showing up, then the advance trac warning keeps going off, so does the TPS warning, no navigation letters, the clock blinks, windows won’t roll down or up and the A/C won’t turn on what is the common denominator? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

My first thoughts are a weak battery or an alternator that can't produce the voltage needed to maintain the different control modules. Have you had the battery and charging system checked?

If not, let's check to see if the alternator is producing what is needed. All you will need is a voltmeter or multimeter. Follow the directions in this link and let me know what you find:

Let me know.

Take care,

Joe

Tested the battery and alternator everything checks out ok the only thing the A/C doesn’t work so I couldn’t turn that and the head lights on at the same time the problems have all started at different times over the last year with the windows not functioning and the A/C going out are the most recent and within a few months of each other the radio was the first to go over a year ago then the gear shift letters numbers but if I put it in manual the numbers appear just fine then the directional compass went with the clock the advance trac service warning has been intermittent since the radio went out the tire pressure sensor warning is relatively new so any other suggestions or what is the common denominator in all these components? I’m at a loss.

Also, the battery was replaced less than a year ago and there has never been any charging or battery issues at least no obvious ones.

Hi,

How much voltage was the alternator providing with the engine running?

This could be related to an issue with the body control module (BCM). What I would recommend is to scan the can-bus to see if there are codes stored in any of the modules, including the BCM.

CAN stand for controller area network. Basically, the different modules are tied together via a few wires.

Here is a link that shows it being done:

Let me know if that is something you can do or have done.

Take care,

Joe
