I was installing an external speaker and running the wires through the firewall but I forgot to disconnect the positive wire from the battery and when running them the wire grounded to the frame touched the positive wire and sparked. Now my car is saying it is running like twelve mpg AVG when it used to always stay at around twenty two mpg AVG. I am guessing I messed up the computer?

It sounds like the computer just needs to relearn. Just keep driving it and it should resolve.
