Hello,
In the drum there is a self adjuster as the one in the following photo:

http://produto.mercadolivre.com.br/MLB-731207384-pino-regulador-sapata-freio-astracorsa-original-gm-90182369-_JM

As you can see, there is between the long hollow metal(where the thread gets into)and the star a kind of black spring/ring,which is compressed between them, while two small edges of the spring/ring sits in a slot at the hollow metal round edge.(which has, actually, two slots a round it).
I found a similar drum kit, where all the parts are the same, but it does not have that spring/ring and the round edge of the hollow metal is smooth.(no slots).
My question is; can i install the one that is without the ring/spring?
Is it important to use that spring/ring?

We do not have these cars in US so we have no information on them. If it is like ours I can try to see what I can do.

If there is someone that have a good knowledge how does the self adjuster work, I think he probably could answer my questions.
All the self adjuster work more or less at the same principle(with small differences). Is there someone professional that may answer my question?
Or at least tell me if I must use that spring/ring(red arrow at the attached photos). Since my spring/ring had been broken.

I mean, how exactly it will cause the self adjuster to work incorrectly?

It means that spring pressure would no longer be put on adjuster wheel and would not work at all or would run away and spin freely so that your brakes would drag on that wheel wearing the brake shoes out.
