That is great. Looks like you got it.

It is very unlikely for this rod to fall out. If you notice how hard it was to get in then you can imagine what would need to happen in order for it to fall out.

However, if the rod is bent it would be possible to fall out easier. So using a zip tie to hold it in place should be fine.

Just make sure it is on tightly and the excess is clipped closely so that it doesn't interfere with anything.

Thanks for the update and great work.

Kasekenny1, I could not have done it without your patience, understanding and knowledge. I never had a tech stick with me as long as you have, Thank you so very much, Tom

PS: I have one other big problem, the speedometer works but the odometer gear broke off and is not working. I called the State Inspection people and they stated I did not need the odometer working as long as the speedometer works in this 30 year old car. Even if it pass's which it will, I would like to put the gears in, I already purchased them.
But want to be prepared on how to put them in, I know something about them. Should I start a new post as I am not in a hurry but want to have them put in by September if possible? I was hoping I could get you kasekenny1 to help me when ready if it's okay with you. Let me know, okay. Thanks again, Tom

That is very kind of you however, you did all the work. I was nothing more then a cheerleader.

Yes. Let's get a new post started for that issue so that others can find the solution when you get to it.
