Electrical problem
2001 Dodge Van V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I started van in morning. It shut off after about a minute. I thought maybe it ran out of gas as it was very low. I put 3 or 4 gal. In but no luck. It turns over fine, but dist to coil seems to have no juice. Coil tested ok. Neighbor plugged in a low end diagnostic tool and it read no info. With the key on, after 30 seconds or so, a message comes up in the odometer window that says "no bus". I've disconected the battery for a bit to see if it would reset, but no luck. A few people have said It may be the main computer. I'm hoping not. Several have mentioned a shift position switch, I think was the name of it. But I was later told that if it has a distributer that it would'nt have one of those. Any Ideas? It's our only vehicle. We are dead in the water right now, so if you have any advise I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks a lot, Mick

Mick, you must determine if it is no fueol, no spark, or both. Their are engine fuses and shutoff relays involved. Use a 12 volt test light and check all the power center fuses(mini's and mediums and the big boys too) then let someone know some more info, it feels real bad now but 2cars ewill get you on track, their techs and help will get it running. This is what it is all about
./ Only 5,000 dollars please? No lol let me know. Ok Primary coil circuit or secondary ok. Good spark from coil. You don't think the plugs or is there a fuel smell? No bus is a so cheap scan code. Any scanner will say no bus code if it's software is not programmed for distinct language.

Your problem seems to be the same problem of everyone else about the dodge van not starting. I think there is a unique problem in the dodge van that's causing this. I wish I new. My van starts everynow and then and once it starts, it dies again and takes a while to start again. The mechanics has replaced a lot of stuff but still the problem exist. Somebody out there I think has the answer. Please help! I don't know about those dodge mechanics.

Eddie
