How do I deal with the white paste all through my engine as a result of getting water in my oil?

Was it caused by a bad head gasket?

I believe it was caused by a bad intake manifold gasket
I never had any smoke coming out the tailpipe, no fouled plugs, and all cylinders show 180 p.S.I. On the compression test.
I have the intake manifold off and it looks pretty ugly in the area of the water ports. For a while prior to discovering that I had water in my oil, I had an inordinate amount of water dripping from my tailpipe. Despite that though, the vehicle ran really well and was getting 13 m.P.G. In the city / freeway!
Thanks!

This is an old trick that I was taught by a teacher. Drain the oil, let the old oil filter on it, and put kerosene in the engine (as much as oil) and run it for about 10 seconds. Drain it, replace the filter, and drive it for about 50 miles with the correct motor oil. Then change it one more time with a new filter. That should clean it out.
