1993 Dodge Van tming chain

Was replaceing old chain, car started, stopped would not start, no codes, sounded like had no compression only 80 pound all cly put new cxhain on new gears lined up marks, before I put back togetter checked to see number 1 cly is at top but dist rotor is not pointing to number one on cap it 180 off dist was never out and top gear only can be put on one way, dont want to put back togetter, bacause the rotor should point to number one right

I'm glad you checked it. You need to remove the timing chain and (i believe) the cam gear 360 degrees. See if that helps. If it doesn't, then put the crank on TDC (align timing marks), align the cam timing marks and if the distributor is still out, remove it and turn it 180 degrees to point at #1. IF you have the timing marks correct and the distributor is pointing at #1, it should be fine.
