2003 Dodge Stratus

2003 dodge stratus 2.4l....when driving and when slowing down to stop i notice the rpms jump up a little then go back down,is that a normal thing,it always happens around 1200 rpms then it comes back to 800 rpms before i stop.when driving the car,it drives normal

Chances are the trans is shifting into first gear and causing it. Has the check engine light on?

yes the engine light has came on,i checked the codes and its pulling an eavap code,nothing on transmisson codes,was told it was normal,it jumps a little,just in case you wanna speed up again,dont know

Honsly,
It sounds normal, as if it is down shifting. As far as the evap codes, have you had that checked?

i havent had the car checked,i been driving the car for 3 months since the evap code came on,its been driving normaly no problems,excpt i notice once in awhile gas milage is diffrent

What I suggest is to have the system fogged. What they do is fill the system with fog. If there is a leak, the fog will be seen coming from it. THen they will know where the problem is.
