Try resetting the PCM (disconnect the negative battery cable and turn the key to "start" and hold it there for a about 10 seconds, do that a few times and then reconnect the cable) Since all was working well with the new sensor too at one point it could also be just some bad wiring or a bad connector.
If the MIL light comes on check the codes with the key trick (turn the key from "unlock" to "run" 3 times and the odometer will show you the codes) and look for a cps code.
