Every time I turn the key to start my dodge stratus, I only hear a clicking sound and it does not want to start
I took it to a mechanic and he got it to start but he said it had somthing to do with the electrical, but all the lights and other electictral stuff work.
he also said it needed a tune up
might this be the reason my car wont start?

There could be numerous things to cause this. If your batery cable that goes to your starter is not getting a good connection it would make a clicking sound and everything else would still function properly, or if the cable was grounding out somewhere or not connected good to the starter itself. It could be a problem in your distributer clutch, or it could be something electrical, either way, the mechanic (let me guess, he wants to do the tune up for a nominal fee of corse) is wrong. An oil, fluid and spark plug chang couldn't hurt, but it will not fix your problem
