1992 Dodge Shadow need help installing a distributor in my

DRIVING ALONG THE OTHER DAY, CAR STOPS. I CALL TOW TRUCK, MY MECHANIC SAYS MY RELUCTOR WHEEL INSIDE MY DISTRIBUTOR IS BROKEN & DISTRIBUTOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. ESTIMATE TO MUCH FOR ME TO PAY SO I HAVE IT TOWED HOME, PURCHASE A USED DISTRIBUTOR AND NOW NEED TO GET IT INSTALLED. NOT SURE HOW TO GO ABOUT IT.

1.Disconnect negative battery cable and distributor Hall effect pick-up wiring harness connector.
2.Remove splash shield retaining screws, and splash shield.
3.Remove distributor cap retaining screws, and distributor cap.
4.Rotate engine until rotor is pointing toward cylinder block. Mark this position for reference when installing distributor.
5.Remove distributor hold down bolt, and carefully remove distributor.

Installation
*If the engine has not been cranked, with the distributor removed:

1.Position distributor in engine, be sure distributor O-ring is not worn or damaged, and is properly seated on distributor.
2.Lower distributor into engine and engage distributor drive with auxiliary shaft drive, so that when distributor is installed rotor points toward cylinder block.
3.Install distributor cap, and make sure all wires are snapped firmly in towers. Install hold down screw and tighten finger tight.
4.Install splash shield and Hall effect pick-up wiring harness connector.
5.Connect negative battery cable, and set timing. SEE
ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES .

*If the engine has been cranked, with the distributor removed:

1.Rotate crankshaft until number one piston is at top of compression stroke. Pointer on bell housing should line up with the "0" TDC mark on flywheel.
2.Rotate the rotor to a position just ahead of number one distributor cap terminal.
3.Lower the distributor into the opening and engage distributor drive with drive on auxiliary shaft. With distributor fully seated, rotor should be under number one tower.
4.Install distributor cap, and make sure all wires are snapped firmly in towers. Install hold down screw and tighten finger tight.
5.Install splash shield and Hall effect pick-up wiring harness connector.
6.Connect negative battery cable, and set timing. SEE ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURES .
