This is a completely random problem that is continuously getting worse. While driving it feels like the fuel partially stops getting to the engine. It will lose power and you have to let off the accelerator for about 30 seconds then get back on it and it kicks back in full throttle. I have had regular service and fuel filter changes. This is for a 1997 Dodge Ram 2500 with a Cummins Diesel Engine. It has 190,000 miles.

Could have a problem with youre tps sensor, I believe most diesel fuel pumps are machanical, Wouldnt hurt getting youre fuel system pressure tested, Could have a leaky injector or weak one.

I have seen similar problems when the fuel hose into the fuel pump has a crack. The pump sucks air and loses power. The crack is not apparent, as it is not under pressure. Replacing the hose fixes the problem.
