Without knowing the year of the truck and what engine I can only give a little general advice on this.
You could have a serious problem, or something very minor.
Check compression on all cyl. They should be within a few PSI of each other. Do a leak down on each cyl to check for a tiny head gasket or valve leak. A repair manual available at the local auto parts store will tell you what specs to look for.
If all above falls in spec, then you can rest assured that their is no MAJOR mechanical issue causing your problem. BUT if it's not one of the above, we will need more specific information about your truck to help diagnose the problem.
