Developed leak and stopped shifting at the same time. It will shift into 2nd, some times into 3rd, but not into 4th. I changed the filter, reset the computer and it still won't shift. Before I pull the transmission to replace the front seal, would the seal cause it not to shift or is it an electronic problem? Or maybe both or something I haven't thought of?

Hello .. thanks for the doantion .. much appreciated

Fluid loss can cause a non shift .. loss of pressure from fluid loss can cause a non shift ..it could be low fluid causing the non shift .. but it also could be another fault altogether .. you really need to have the trnas checked at a transmission shop .. if it is an electrical fault on the transmission it should be storing fault codes which do not always display the CEL ..

hope this helps

I tried to get the code once but the check engine light wouldn't flash at all. I will try again and I will check with a local shop to see about getting it in. Thanks for your help Dave.
