Transmission problem
1996 Dodge Ram V8 Four Wheel Drive 115000 miles

My 96 ram is having problems shifting. It will go through all the gear but when It needs to shift I have to Eather let off the gas or give it some to shift. It's not low on fluid or leaking. My low beams for my headlights quit working rite before my tranny started tweaking. Is my tranny going out or Is there some kinda think that can be replaced instead of actually having to get another tranny or getting rebuilt

It sounds like a bad shift sensor. Is the engine over reving before it shifts and then will shift if you release pressure from the throttle?

Ya it hold out the rpms until I either let off the throttle or give it more. That's when I can get it to shift. It goes through all the gears but like serges in 3rd.

I feel it has to do with a bad shift solenoid. Have that checked.
