Why does a transmission slip, Its due from excressive wear inside the transmission, Gear bands, That wear thin, In which it comes to a point, When you push the gas pedal the metal bands squeez together in which allows the car to pick up speed. Usually tranny fails from lack of maintance done on the fluids and filter replacement.
