Check the 50-amp fuse in the under-hood power distribution center and inspect wiring damaged while connecting to the fuse block. The owner later found the failed circuit was a 15-amp I.O.D. fuse in a pull-out holder in the fuse box.
A 1996 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 with a 5.9L diesel lost interior lights, radio, buzzer, and power mirrors after a spark while wiring a scanner into the fuse block. Fuses and a replaced relay did not restore the circuits, and the truck otherwise ran well. The expert advised checking the only 50-amp fuse in the power distribution center and any damaged wire. The owner later reported finding a failed 15-amp I.O.D. fuse in a pull-out plastic holder. A separate 1998 Dodge Neon question was not answered.
