Neon ticking noise-oil light

98 dodge neon 98K miles 2.0 sohc. Makes ticking noise when pushing on the accelerator but not when idling...sounds like underneath car like exhaust or maybe catalytic converter...but no exhaust leak found
Also, oil light came on and car is full of oil, checked the next day and oil light will not come on

if you still hear the noise even without the oil light on there may be an internal problem , if the light comes on i would have a shop do a manual oil pressure test and see what the outcome is , if the oil pressure checks out i would move on to the noise , could be a faulty pressure switch but i doubt it , sounds internal
