My car started to over heat last fall. I took it to the dealership. They replaced the radiator and thermostat. It was ok for a while but it started again. They said it was probably the water pump. I had them replace the water pump and timing chain. I picked it up and didn't even make it home before it overheated again. I just got finished paying alot of money to have my head fixed. Now my car gets to the third notch under red, while running. When the engine is turned off, it gets very hot, before cooling back down. The fan works, and no leaks. What could be the problem?

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation,

if the temp is rising so far then dropping down this would indicate a slow reacting or faulty thermostat, I would get it check, there is no guarantee that a new one is with out fault.
