While driving at highway speed,my wifes Neon had a spontaneous transmission oil leak. It "bumped"
twice and the car was curbed immediately. She had no idea that it was a tranny leak until she got out and saw the streak of oil on the pavement. No dash alarms. The car was in the correct gear. What caused this ? Is there a seal that can be a simple fix that may have let go? Am I going to have to get a new tranny for the car? That's 3 questions..sorry! I do not use my credit card on line for anything but will send a donation if you send me the mailing info. In the economic times I wish I could send more. Thanks

Hello,

First thing would is to crawl under the vehicle and take a look. It can be as simple as a tranny line has failed. There are 2 line that go from the tranny to the radiator they are cooling lines check them out. next could be a seal at either CV AXle going into the tranny, then there is the front pump seal which would be the most expensive fix because the tranny needs to come out.
