1998 Dodge Neon Cruise control

What have you tried so far? Any other symptoms? Does the horn work? Do you have a green "Cruise" light on the dash? If so, is it turning on?

The most common cause of a dead cruise control is a broken clock spring under the steering wheel. That's a wound-up ribbon cable that is needed to make a solid electrical connection to the air bag. The horn circuit also goes through the clock spring. Eventually all three of these circuits will malfunction. In the case of the air bag, the warning light on the dash will come on, and the system will be disabled.

If the green "Cruise" dash light does turn on, the clock spring is ok. The next things to check for are a defective section in the brake light switch and a deteriorated / cracked vacuum hose to the servo.
