The other day my car lost power as I was driving down the highway and going up a hill. I listened closely to hear what was going on, did not hear anything but shortly after the engine died and would not start. I further discovered that the timing belt housing was damaged due to the belt slipping off the pulley, however it never fell completely off and the tensioner pulley was ruined. I have since heard that there may be extensive internal damage due to it being an intereference engine. I was wondering the proper way to check for damage. I have removed the valve cover and there appears to be nothing wrong. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
