how do I get the intake off to change thermostat. Thermostat overheating

If its 2.7L the thermostat is at the lower radiator hose and not at the upper
u need to raise the car remove the alternator
remove lower radiator and heater hoses from thermostat housing
remove thermostat housing remove and replace thermostat
if not 2.7L
then let me know

What if the coolant is also getting hot would it be the thermostat? Or could it be something else before I take the alternator off and un-do everything

So its 2.7L
Coolant getting hot is a sign of overheating
as a 1st step coolant level should be checked & check fan operations (fuses and relays ), if all OK
