Hi coachbkp. Welcome to the forum. What kind of noise is "like a battery"? Do you mean a single kind of loud clunk from the starter but it doesn't spin the engine or do you mean a rapid clicking noise like a ratchet? Have you solved that problem now that it's running? If so, and the battery was disconnected or run dead, the Engine Computer has to relearn "minimum throttle" before it will know when it must be in control of idle speed. Until then, it will typically stall when coming up to a stop sign, or it will stall right after starting.
To meet the conditions for the relearn to occur, drive at highway speed with the engine warmed up, then coast for at least seven seconds without touching the brake or gas pedals. When the computer sees high manifold vacuum for seven seconds, it knows you are coasting so it knows your foot is off the gas pedal. It memorizes the reading from the throttle position sensor at that time. From then on, whenever it sees the same voltage, it will control idle speed. Otherwise it will leave it up to you.
