2001 Dodge Durango Turning Left

My durrango makes a whining noise when only when i turn left. It has started to whine while im driving straight, i have checked the power steering fluid and it is at the appropriate level. I have the wheels rotated and balanced every 6000 miles, and check air pressure regularly.

Is the sound coming from the steering gear?

It sounds like its more from the drivers side front tire area.

If the hood is open and you turn the steering wheel, do you hear the sound? Could it be a bad or weak PS pump?
