2000 Dodge Durango Help me please!

I have a 2000 Durango and today I was switching out of 4 wheel lo and there was a loud noise and then my engine light came on. I tried shutting off the durango and restarting but the light stays on. Any ideas?

Hi:
It sounds like there may be a problem with the 4wd actuator. However, without checking the computer for codes, I would be guessing. If the light is on and the car still runs and drives ok, take it to a nationally recognized parts store and have them scan the computer for codes. Most stores will do it for free. Let me know what code you get, and I guide you from there.
