2005 Dodge Dakota engine failure

oil light and engine light was coming on like a pinball machine was down a qt of oil ONLY added one quart of oil and after 20 minutes on the highway, the vehicle was losing power and engine was really shaking when stepped on the accelerator. eventually stalled and had towed. Truck still starts but engine shaking alot.

The first thing we need to do is determine why the check engine light was coming on. The computer needs scanned to determine that. Many parts stores will lend or rent them to you. Scan the computer and let me know what codes you get.
