I just bought this truck. It had 1/4 of a tank of gas in it and the fuel gauge was fine. Once the gas got low the fuel light came on. I put 18.3 gallons of gas in and the light won't turn off and the guage still reads empty. What do you think the issue is and if I decide not to fix it will it hurt anything??

The only problem you gonna have is worrying how many gallons you got left if you lost track- get the fuel sending unit checked out this is where your problem is coming from.
