Lately my 1999 Dodge Dakota will just stall out and die while i'm driving. Then the odometer willl read "no bus". After 3-4 minutes of trying to restart it, it will start up again and driver normally. Is this a fuel pump problem or what? I've taken it to a repairman twice ans they tell me they can't find anything wrong with it unless it happens when they have the diagnostic machine hooked up to it! Does this mean that it only throws a code when it happens and then resets itself?

2Carpros has a very thorough trouble shooting topic read this and see if you can get going in the right direction. If not just reply back and we will see if we can help you.
By the way a code is set when the light comes on. If it is an input sensor or an output device that is bad. The light should stay on. If the computer however gets a reading from one of these sensor that is out of range such as a lean mixture from the O2 sensor and then it goes back to operating within the normal limits the light will not be on but that code should still be there.Good Luck.
