15 min After Hitting a large rut at 25 mph, rocking my truck for sure: I was on my way home going 65 mph on the highway when ; the truck slipped out of overdrive into 3rd and back into overdrive, then settled into 3rd gear. I also noticed that the speedometer wasn't reading anything. Moments later I was coasting in neutral down the highway when it just died. I got it towed home. Now it starts, and idles normally. But dies apon putting it in gear. I can "rev" it up in park just fine though.
i checked the codes : code 12(problem with battery connection) is in the system as well as code 15(no distance/speed signal) check engine light is not on when it's running

Hi beau1201. Welcome to the forum. Check underneath for an electrical connector that got bent or knocked loose. With no speed sensor signal, the computer won't know when to request overdrive.

Disregard the code 12. That just means the ignition switch was turned off. The only time that indicates a problem is when you erase the codes and it comes back when the ignition switch is still turned on.
