When I start my truck and back out of my drive way. Then when I put it in drive and start to go down the road it revs to the 3 on the rpm and stays that way until it hits 30 mph. Then it does it again till I hit 45 mph. Can u tell me whats wrong and please be kind. I'm on a fixed income and this is the only vechile I have and Do't have tons of money to get a new transmission. Hope it is something simple to get fixed I hope thks wm

Hi:
I'll try to go easy on ya. First, I would try having the transmission serviced with a new filter. If that doesn't help, the next stop will most likely be a trans repair shop. Chrysler's auto transmissions wern't too durable back then, and if the engine is reving with little acceleration, it sounds like the clutches may be out of it.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Joe

Thks. My truck is automatic. My bad for not saying that in my question. It seems when I step on the gas and it reaches 3rpm then it will shift when I get to 45 mph then it will shift again then it is fine. So have the tranny cleaned and filter replaced. See what happens. If that won't work a major over haul on tranny?
