The truck stalled and towed it home. Checking for electrical operation no fire on the plugs. Changed the electrical unit in the distributer and rotor. Still no fire. Changed the coil, still no fire at the plugs. Changed the electronic module (computer) on the firewal and still no fire at the plugs. Truck still won't start. Problem began by misfiring, then check engine indicator came on in the dash. A few miles on the way home the truck stalled. Engine cranks but won't start. Towed the truck home and began to check for fuel then electrical operation which resulted in finding no fire at the spark plugs. With all the part changed, is there a module somewhere that is preventing the truck from starting. I know on newer vehicles there is an emergency shut off device under the frame area that shuts off the vehicle operation during an accident. Is there something like that on an old 88 Dodge pickup. Appreciate your help.

There is an automatic shut-off relay. Check a wiring diagram for location. Learn to read schematics man. You'll be glad u did. There is also a module inside the distributor. And there is the ignition relay on driver side fender.I've been chasing a problem in mine for 3 days now. Good luck
